Singapore’s Media Companies to Present Diverse Content at MIPCOM 2024

SINGAPORE – 18 OCT 2024

  1. Singapore makes a return to 2024 Marche International des Programmes de Communication (MIPCOM) with the most diverse range of companies presenting trans-media content to-date. Led by the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA), the Singapore delegation will be bringing more than 100 pieces of content through 30 media companies based in Singapore. Held in Cannes, France from 21 to 24 October, MIPCOM is the world’s largest entertainment trade event for television, digital and content.
  2. This year, the Singapore delegation consists of companies presenting content across different genres from television and new media to even more Roblox games. There will also be more children-related content, which have been sold to global markets, that will be showcased at MIPCOM. Examples include:
    • Omens Studio is presenting new IP which merges traditional story-telling with modern technology. Programmes such as “Leo the Wildlife Ranger”, a favourite with Singapore audiences, and “123 Number Squad” have been converted into Roblox games, reaching global audiences under 13.
    • Scrawl Animations will be presenting projects “The McFire Family”, “Digital Girl”, “Pirates of the Deep” which are international co-productions.
    • Virtual production company Oceanus Media Group will be joining the event for the first time to network and present their VP technology and services.
    • Digital content companies Viddsee, Titan Media, and Gushcloud will also be participating at MIPCOM for the first time to network and explore partnerships for long form content.
  3. IMDA will be hosting a Singapore Pavilion at the event to showcase Singapore’s media companies and their high quality content to international commissioners and producers. There will also be opportunities to connect where interested buyers can learn more about Singapore’s growing content production industry and meet key players.
  4. Singapore Hour will be held on 21 and 22 October, 3.00pm to 5.00pm, CET at the Singapore Pavilion. During this event, Singapore's delegation will be making key deal announcements and providing industry updates, followed by an open session where attendees can network. Some exciting showcases include new IPs such as MediaCorp’s “Emerald Hill”, a spinoff of the highly popular “Little Nyonya”. There will also be companies such as Bomanbridge signing MOUs for co-production and distribution deals. Additionally, studios such as August Media and iinfinitty Media will be making co-production announcements. Interested buyers, commissioners, producers and agents are invited to visit the Singapore Pavilion located at Palais -1, P1.H51 to meet with Singapore’s media companies.
  5. “We are very excited to present the most diverse range of companies at this year’s MIPCOM – this is testament to Singapore’s growing production capabilities and ability to create trans-media IP. From the slate of content that will be presented at MIPCOM, we see Singaporean companies redefining content distribution and by leveraging digital platforms, we are taking our stories to the global audience. We welcome potential partners and collaborators who are looking for Asian content to collaborate with our Singapore talent and companies,” said Ms Yvonne Tang, Cluster Director for Media Industry Cluster at IMDA.
  6. “With Singaporean producers and content making a global impact, MIPCOM remains crucial for producers as it provides an excellent opportunity to showcase content to a diverse audience, potentially leading to distribution deals and partnerships that can elevate their presence in the international market. The Singaporean delegation is a valuable opportunity for our members to position themselves as players in the international media industry and drive growth and innovation in their content creation,” said Mr Jeevan Nathan, President of the Association of Independent Producers Singapore (AIPRO).
