About the Green Data Centre (DC) Roadmap
An integral part of Singapore’s efforts as a digital-first Smart Nation, DCs make up our foundational digital infrastructure. As DCs are power and resource intensive, the Green DC Roadmap charts the sustainable, continued growth of DCs and supports Singapore’s ambitions to grow the digital economy. It builds on work done in the Digital Connectivity Blueprint which was launched in June 2023 and aims to provide at least 300 megawatts (MW) of additional capacity in the near term, with more through green energy deployments.
Advancing Green DC growth with the industry
Since the launch of the Green DC Roadmap, we have been working closely with the industry to drive a greener digital future:
- Refreshed Green Mark for DCs 2024 (GMDC:2024): GMDC:2024 was jointly developed by BCA and IMDA with industry input and launched in October 2024 to raise the standards for sustainability in DCs. For more information on GMDC, please visit: Green Mark for Data Centres Scheme.
- Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) for the DC sector: The EEG for the DC sector helps DC end-users accelerate their upgrades to more energy efficient IT equipment by co-funding investments in such pre-approved equipment options. For more information about the grant and eligibility, please visit: Energy Efficiency Grant.
We welcome industry to partner us on this pioneering journey to achieve more sustainable growth and bring the ecosystem together to push boundaries.
