About
The Singapore Film Commission (SFC), which sits under the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), champions the development of Singapore's film industry and its talent. Its committee of advisors include members from the film, arts, and cultural community. Established in 1998, SFC has supported more than 800 short films, scripts, feature films, and film-related events in Singapore that showcase homegrown talent and works.
SFC@Festival de Cannes 2024
SFC returns to Cannes for the Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival) this year. Together with an entourage of Singapore media companies, we will be showcasing their latest film projects and hosting networking sessions where international partners can explore collaborations with Singapore film companies.
SFC and the Film Development Council Philippines will jointly host the Singapore-Philippines Pavilion at Pavilion 113 at Village International Riviera at the Marche du Film’s (Cannes Film Market) Village International from 14 to 22 May (9am to 6pm (GMT+2) daily). Our Singapore x Philippines Networking Event will take place at the pavilion on 18 May from 4pm to 6pm (GMT+2).

The Violinist

Wonderland

Tan finds comfort in Loke’s dedication to his daughter, as he yearns for a reconciliation with his estranged daughter. When bad news arrives from abroad, Tan, in a spur of a moment, decides to withhold the truth from Loke in an attempt to spare his newfound friend the grief.
Success of Made-with-SG Films at Festival de Cannes 2023
2023 saw the most Made-with-SG films selected for competition or screening at Festival de Cannes. Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell and Tiger Stripes (both supported by IMDA) received top accolades at the Festival while The Breaking Ice was selected for Un Certain Regard – an official selection of the Cannes Film Festival which spotlights films that tell non-traditional stories in innovative ways.
Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell

The Breaking Ice

By chance, he goes on a tour led by Nana, a charming guide who instantly fascinates him. She introduces him to Xiao, and the three bond quickly.
EMERGE 2.0 @ Cannes Marché du Film 2024
Six film script projects that were shortlisted under the EMERGE 2.0 programme will be presented at Cannes Marché du Film 2024. Three of these projects are helmed by Singaporean talents, including industry veteran and IMDA’s Singapore Digital (SG Digital) scholar Chow Wai Thong, who produced the award-winning Snow in Midsummer. Two other talents - Michael Tay and Tang Kang Sheng are also IMDA Singapore Digital scholars. EMERGE 2.0 is the first film script accelerator programme co-organised by SFC and the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA).
As part of the programme, the talents helming the shortlisted projects underwent intensive script development and pitch trainings, supervised by Imagine Entertainment and Sixty Percent Productions. Workshops were also conducted by top Hollywood and Asia producers, including award-winning American producer Ron Howard and prolific American TV, film producer-writer Trey Callaway, and Derek Tsang. The refined scripts with international and commercial appeal will be presented on 16 May from 3pm to 6pm (GMT+2), at the Croisette Room (Level 1) in The Gray D’Albion Hotel.
Those interested in collaborating on the EMERGE 2.0 film projects are invited to speak with the programme producers Ms Janice Chua from Imagine Entertainment and Ms Cora Yim from Sixty Percent Production, as well as the writers of the six projects during either of the following time-slots: 17 May from 2pm to 6pm or 18 May from 12.30pm to 3.30pm.
