BCA-IMDA Green Mark for Data Centres Scheme

About

BCA-IMDA Green Mark for Data Centres (GMDC) is a certification scheme designed to recognise Data Centre (DC) operators that have successfully deployed green DC best practices and demonstrated superior sustainability and environmental performance. Jointly developed by BCA and IMDA with industry input, the scheme comprises of a rating system which enables DCs to benchmark their level of environmental sustainability against specified rating thresholds, namely "Platinum", "GoldPLUS" and "Gold".

The GMDC rating system assesses DCs' performance in key areas such as energy efficiency, sustainable design and construction, use of digital tools and maintainability. The scheme is applicable to both existing DCs and new DCs that may be purpose-built buildings or part of a larger building. Details of criteria and assessment process for the latest version, GMDC: 2024 is available at Green Mark Assessment Criteria and Online Application page.

Here is the list of Green Mark certified DCs.

The GMDC is part of IMDA’s efforts, under our Green DC roadmap, to co-develop enhanced standards and certifications with industry to help DCs uplift their energy efficiency and sustainability. GMDC ratings provide the impetus for DC operators to track, manage and improve their sustainability performance.
