Suresh Eswaran is a Distinguished Engineer and CTO for Hybrid Cloud Services in the ASEAN region. He currently focuses on leveraging AI for IT operations through platform engineering and hyper-automation. He is also focused on leveraging Generative AI to drive productivity improvements in the end to end IT lifecycle. In his current role, he is responsible for assessing and recommending approaches to implement an Open API ecosystem and a cloud convergence strategy, and setting up the cloud operating model that will enable financial institutions to evolve rapidly in the digital ecosystem and help organizations to exploit the benefits of moving to cloud.
Prior to this, he has led Architecture and Technology transformation strategy initiatives at a Citibank N.A for over 9 years. He is a versatile technologist and a full stack Architect who has worked on designing solutions across technology stacks and platforms with focus on providing seamless integration, collaboration and cloud computing to reduce TCO and improve system resiliency. He has about 20 years of IT industry experience and 17 years providing technology solutions to banks.
Vincent Caldeira
Red Hat, CTO, APAC
Vincent Caldeira serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Red Hat in Asia Pacific, where he is responsible for forging high-impact partnerships with key strategic customers, and ultimately helping to shape the company's technological vision and strategy. Notably, Vincent leads Red Hat's technology contribution in the field of environmental sustainability, acting as the chief architect and Technical Advisory Council Chair for OS-Climate, a Linux Foundation-backed open source project that intends to build the breakthrough technology and data platforms needed to more fully integrate the impacts of climate change in global financial decision-making and risk management.
Recognised as one of the 'Top 10 Chief Technology Officers in APAC' by Technology Magazine in 2023, Vincent brings over two decades of experience in the IT industry, including a proven track record for leading ambitious business and technology transformation roadmaps within the Financial Services industry. Vincent is not only an influential thought-leader in open source solutions, cloud computing, and digital transformation, but also a sought-after speaker at industry events, dedicated to fostering innovation and advocating emerging technologies in domains such as Modern Data Analytics, AI/ML and Information Technology Sustainability.
Dr. Tan Rui
NTU, Assoc. Professor, SCSE
Dr. Tan Rui is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) and Assistant Dean (Research) at the College of Engineering of Nanyang Technological University (NTU). His research areas lie in AIoT, sensing for resilient system functions (e.g., timing, synchronization, location, etc), thermal and energy management in data centers, and secure sensing and control in smart grids.
Dr Tan received B.S.(2004) and M.S.(2007) in automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Ph.D.(2010) in computer science from City University of Hong Kong, respectively. From 2010 to 2012, he worked as a postdoctoral Research Associate at Michigan State University. From 2012 to 2015, he worked as a Research Scientist and then a Senior Research Scientist at Advanced Digital Sciences Center, a Singapore-based research center of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined the SCSE at NTU in 2016.
He has received multiple research awards including Best Paper Award from ACM/IEEE ICCPS 2023, ACM/IEEE IPSN 2017, CPSR-SG 2017, Best Paper Award Finalist from ACM SenSys 2022 and 2021, ACM/IEEE ICCPS 2022, ACM/IEEE IPSN 2014 and IEEE PerCom 2013, IPSN'21 Best Artifact Award Runner-Up, NTU CoE Research-Young Faculty Award 2023 (Special Mention), INFOCOM Distinguished TPC Member in 2017, 2020, and 2022, as well as Outstanding Academic Performance Award from City University of Hong Kong in 2009. He is now an IEEE Senior Member.
