Come learn digital skills, explore new technologies like Generative AI, and pick up practical tips on navigating the online space safely

SINGAPORE – 18 OCT 2024

1. Get ready to embark on a learning adventure at the Digital for Life Festival (DfL) 2024. Organised by Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), together with about 100 partners from the People, Private, and Public (3P) sectors. This year’s festival promises three exciting weekends filled with learning digital skills, exploring Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technology, and stepping forward to play a part in building an inclusive digital society.

2. The DfL Festival will be held at three locations:

    i. Keat Hong Community Club on 26 and 27 October;

    ii. Heartbeat@Bedok on 2 and 3 November; and

    iii. VivoCity Central Court on 9 and 10 November.

Visitors can look forward to interactive activities at close to 70 booths over three locations.

3. Come and have fun, and learn through activities such as:

    i. Digital Skills for Life (DSL): Pick up digital skills for daily living. From online safety and security to communicating and transacting online responsibly, learn how to make secure online payments, arrange convenient pick-ups for your medicine deliveries, and gain crucial anti-scam tips. Experience what it means to be a Digital Citizen in a smart neighbourhood, with guidance from government agencies and industry partners such as Amazon Singapore, OCBC, NTUC Learning Hub, Digi-Up and GovTech!

    ii. Raising Children in the Digital Age (RCDA): Parents can learn to guide their children in the digital world, such as managing screen time for children and using technology to support their child's wellbeing. Visit showcases by The LEGO Group, Meta x EYEYAH!, The Young Maker, and TOUCH Community Services and participate in parent-child activities. Or join workshops by the National Library Board where families can pick up practical tips and knowledge on AI safety and responsibility or learn to code together!

    iii. Emerging Technology (ET): Enjoy an interactive playground with our partners such as Microsoft, Google and AI Learning Lab, showcasing exciting emerging technologies including GenAI. Get hands-on experience with Virtual Reality and discover how it can enhance mental and physical wellbeing. Children will be introduced to emerging technologies through play, while adults explore how these innovations can enrich daily life.

    iv. Whole-of-Government (WOG): Discover Singapore's Smart Nation 2.0! From cybersecurity and crime prevention to inclusive digital services and AI-enabled learning, the showcase demonstrates the government's commitment to harnessing technology for the benefit for all Singaporeans.

    v. Discover your Digital Alter Ego: Take an online trivia quiz to discover your digital personality. Find out if you are a Speedy Spider, Master Guru or Kampong Buddy.

4. Ms Doreen Tan, Assistant Chief Executive, Strategic Planning and Digital Readiness, at IMDA, said, "We are excited to bring the Digital for Life Festival to more Singaporeans at new locations this year. Our aim is to enable everyone in Singapore to feel confident with digital in their daily lives. Whether you are a tech whiz or just starting out on your tech journey, there is something here for you.
