Schedule for President Candidate Broadcasts for Presidential Elections 2023

SINGAPORE – 23 AUG 2023

  1. The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has made available airtime on television and radio for presidential candidates to deliver their campaigning messages during two Presidential Candidate Broadcasts (Broadcasts).

  2. For Presidential Election 2023, two Broadcast slots will air across 19 TV and radio channels on

    • 1st Broadcast: 24 August 2023; and
    • 2nd Broadcast: 30 August 2023.
  3. Three candidates will make the Broadcasts over free-to-air radio and television platforms. The Broadcasts will be made in the four official languages. Details on the Broadcasts can be viewed here.

  4. The order of the first Broadcast on radio and television will be determined based on the alphabetical ordering of the names as reflected in the Electoral Roll. They are:

    1. Mr Ng Kok Song

    2. Mr Shanmugaratnam Tharman

    3. Mr Tan Kin Lian

    This order will be reversed for the second Presidential Candidate Broadcast.

  5. To facilitate reporting, IMDA will release the scripts of the two Presidential Candidate Broadcasts to the media at 6pm on the same day of each Broadcast. All scripts are embargoed till after delivery and are to be checked against delivery.
