Businesses are now able to Submit Electronic Invoices to Government Agencies through the Nationwide E-Invoicing Network
SINGAPORE – 20 JAN 2020
In partnership with the Accountant-General’s Department (AGD), government vendors are now provided with an additional channel to send e-invoices to Government
over the nationwide e-invoicing network. As part of Singapore Digital Economy efforts to help businesses including Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) launched the nationwide e-invoicing network last year. From today, businesses will be able to submit e-invoices through Vendors@Gov, or the nationwide e-invoicing network through which businesses can invoice not only the Government but also in the same way invoice any other businesses on the network.
The nationwide e-invoicing network is based on the international Peppol standard with the global Peppol eDelivery network extended to local businesses in Singapore. As Asia’s first Peppol Authority, IMDA has certified more than 20 certified Access Points (APs) and worked with more than 50 service providers who are now ready to help businesses connect to the Peppol network. The Peppol standard, which is an open standard, allows for business process interoperability and participants of the network would be able to exchange business documents automatically and without manual intervention. Businesses who adopt e-invoicing can expect to reduce cost, enjoy faster payment collection cycles, reduce friction on overseas transactions and stay green at the same time.
“We are encouraged to see more and more businesses get connected to the nationwide e-invoicing network and facilitating thousands of transactions a day. We are excited to provide businesses and SMEs with another option to submit e-invoices through the e-invoicing network that will enable them to improve their productivity and allow for seamless transactions,” said Ms Jane Lim, Assistant Chief Executive, IMDA.
