Extension of Public Consultation

In consideration of some industry players' requests for more time to provide feedback to the Public Consultation, the Media Development Authority of Singapore ("MDA") has extended the consultation till 25 May 2011, 5pm, Singapore time. The MDA welcomes the submission of any views you may have in accordance with Part 5 of the Consultation Paper.

MDA is now conducting a public consultation on the Proposed Advisory Guidelines on Maximum Contract Term and Early Termination Charges for Pay TV Services Offered to Consumers ("Proposed Guidelines").
Taking into account the evolving competition and technological landscape in the pay TV market, MDA views that it is timely to review the contractual terms for pay TV services so that they remain reasonable and fair to both the pay TV retailers and consumers. The Proposed Guidelines will cover (a) maximum contract length; and (b) early termination charges.
MDA hereby invites interested parties to submit written comments on the Proposed Guidelines. All views and comments should reach MDA by 5pm, 18 May 2011 and addressed to:
