IDA has completed its review of the Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication Services. IDA now issues the Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication Services 2010, which will come into effect on 21 January 2011.

On 12 November 2008, IDA initiated the second triennial review of the Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication Services (the "Code") with a public consultation on the broad policy directions for the Code. Having carefully reviewed the industry's comments, IDA has prepared a draft version of the revised Code for another round of public consultation. This second public consultation will give the industry and members of the public an opportunity to review and comment on the draft amendments to the Code. IDA will review the comments received before finalising the revised Code.

Notice: IDA has received requests from the industry to extend the deadline for the submission of comments to the public consultation on "Second Triennial Review of the Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication Services". The deadline shall be extended and all responses must now be submitted to IDA by noon, 30 December 2008.

IDA is now conducting the second triennial review of the Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication Services (the "Code"). Taking into account market developments over the past three years as well as IDA's experience in implementing the Code, IDA has identified several broad areas that could be fine-tuned. IDA would like to seek the views and comments from the industry and members of the public before proceeding to amend the Code. IDA will be conducting a second round of consultation on the actual amendments to the Code.
