About
Singapore’s Public Service Media (PSM) content celebrates our shared identity and diverse culture, fostering a cohesive and connected society. IMDA supports the production of local PSM programmes that cater to the public’s diverse viewing interests and promotes the development of Singapore’s vibrant media industry. PSM content is produced in the four official languages across various platforms in genres such as News & Current Affairs, Documentary, Info-Education, Drama, Arts & Heritage and Children's programmes.
Through the support of quality, engaging and informative PSM content, IMDA seeks to achieve the following:
Promote positive social values important to Singapore and Singaporeans
Celebrate our culture and heritage and promote cross-cultural awareness
Promote racial and religious harmony
Promote the Singapore identity
Stimulate knowledge and learning through educational programmes targeting children, youths, and the general population
Foster an informed society via news, information, and analysis of current affairs that increase understanding of the world
As viewers shift towards consuming content digitally, IMDA works with Mediacorp to make PSM content available for free via Mediacorp's over-the-top service meWATCH. IMDA also works with other digital partners to encourage the growth of PSM content on new media platforms in Singapore.
