In 2006, Boku Films embarked on a co-production with Hong Kong’s Focus Films. Love Story, an arthouse gem, was produced by Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau and directed by Kelvin Tong. The film took the Best Director Award at the 20006 Singapore International Film Festival and was also honored as the closing film for the 2006 Locarno International Film Festival. In 2007, Boku Films co-produced Rule #1 with Hong Kong’s Star Movies. The supernatural noir thriller was shot and completed in Hong Kong, making Kelvin Tong the first Singapore director to work abroad. Starring Ekin Cheng and Shawn Yue, Rule #1 won two Best Actor Awards at the 2008 Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival as well as the Best Film Award at the 2009 Singapore International Film Festival’s inaugural Singapore Film Awards. Boku Films completed Kidnapper, an action thriller. The thriller went on to win critical acclaim with its fast-paced tension upon its release in 2010. In the same year, they produced It’s A Great Great World, a historical epic about a legendary Singapore amusement park. Starring an ensemble cast, the film was released in 2011. In 2012, Boku Films released Dance Dance Dragon regionally and in 2015, Boku Films produced The Faith of Anna Waters, an English horror movie which was release in the United states and internationally in 2016. They are currently working on their upcoming film, A Year of No Significance.
